Pretty in pink || the ‘breakfast club’

Cheap, cheerful, and oh so pretty in pink, that is what the Breakfast Club offers. The walls, the chairs, the tables and wait staff uniforms are all pink. It is a traditional american breakfast menu, with over 55 breakfast choices, and that is not counting the sides and drinks. They serve up a good cup of coffee with eggs in a gazillion ways, waffles, pancakes, a whole section dedicated to french toast options, and a specialties list with burritos & skillets. The little house is filled on the weekends, but there is never a long wait. Tucked away on a side street in West Town, with some available ‘free’ parking across the street in the ltaco lot , if you haven’t been you should make a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

WHERE: 1381 West Hubbard Street, Chicago, 60642
WHAT: Me – I like potato and always go here for the potato pancakes served with sour cream and apple sauce, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The Avocado & Bacon Burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs, fresh avocado & bacon wrapped in a large flour tortilla, topped with melted cheddar & ole sauce is huge and tasty, but there is a load of cheese, so you might want to ask for no melted cheese if you want to get through it all [also comes with home fries]. They do a great job with pancakes and waffles too. Try one of their spiked teas or coffee like Infusion Ginger Tea with Domaine de Canto, French ginger liqueur, ginger ale, boiling water and lemon, orange wedge. Ideally get here before 10AM to avoid any crowd.
WHEN: This is a BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, LUNCH spot. Open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday from 6.00AM-3.00PM, and on Saturday & Sunday 7.00AM – 3.00PM – call to double-check (312) 666-2372
HOW: Dine-In || Walk-In || No Reservations || Take-out available.

    Strangely, this is one of the first places I ate at when I moved back to Chicago. Long story but I moved back August 6th and bought a place August 9th and my developer took me to The Breakfast Club on Aug 14th! (Before we looked at tile and granite down the road.) I had pancakes with bacon and if you could only imagine how much I was looking forward to these pancakes after more than six years without…

    But they were too dry. I was sad. The service was sweet though. Very sweet.

    Love the little pink house! You need to update the address – looks like a leftover from a previous review. I know – I’m picky as can be but I truly enjoy your blog and hope others do as well.

      Thanks for keeping me honest. Update is now complete.

      It is a great little spot that always makes me leave with a smile. Love the service too.
