Pisa || Tuscany Italy

Pisa, I am not really sure that I can say that you ‘must go here’, but if you are like us, we had to visit to tick it off the ‘been-there-done-that’ list. We basically popped in to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and then got on our way to Florence. Odd little town really situated at the mouth of the River Arno on the Tyrrhenian Sea, everything and everyone seemed beaten down and battered. We disembarked from our flight arriving in from London, jumped on a train to arrive into city center, with our suitcases in-tow we marched through town, stopped for a cookie & some gelato, hit up the Tower, trying to avoid the hordes of street vendors forcing tacky souvenirs upon us, took some snaps, march back to the train station and all was done. So to be fair, we didn’t really give Pisa much of a chance to charm us, but I think we saw enough.

    Totally agree! I think we were overwelmed with the amount of tourists there too… we jumped off the train, spent a few hours, and then got back on the train!

    We had the same experience in Pisa. The gauntlet of vendors tainted the experience. However, the gelato was fabulous!
